Ed Silverman from the Wall Street Journal wrote an interesting article on the need for more social media presence from pharmaceutical companies in clinical trial arena. Silverman feels that pharma companies may be dropping the ball on using social media to promote and recruit for clinical trials. He shares that only 1 out of 10 clinical trials have recruited participants through social media. Many companies confessed that they don’t use social media to design clinical trial protocols. While there is minimal use of social media for clinical trials, the trend is looking up and could see an increase in the future. To read the full article click here.
